LA RATA 04/12/2006
In 1996 I spent a few weeks working at Sabado's Eccentric Tattoo in Nagoya...one night after work me,Sabado,Han and Washo(HORITOMO) decided to do a tribute to the year af the rat and each of us designed a rat on our own styles...the set was meant to be used as flash at the studio...that's how my RAT was born, just four friends having fun one night after work...black pencil and tracing paper...it's funny to look at the original drawing and see my signature,the same one since I was 16 still in the middle of it's metamorphosis...and looking at the RAT I feel there's absolutely nothing I could do to it in order to "refine" it, it looks as good to me as it did 10 years ago...back then I had no idea that one day the desing would be used as the logo of a clothing line...well , that clothing line doesn't exist anymore...no more store,no more sales manager,no more staff and most of all no more drama...the decision was made a couple of months ago and to be more clear I posted the letter I sent to all the people we did business with explaining the reasons why such decision was made...I have to go to sleep now...big tattoo tomorrow...good night...
