It’s sunday morning and after having to deal with the pollution of a city like São Paulo for more than a month without a single drop of rain the air feels fresh again….it’s been raining since last night.
The tattoo you see on this post was finished last week and Mr.Kyoutaro must now be finally relaxing back in Japan after a 24 hours flight and 1 week of some pain and culture shock….
I first spoke to Mr.Kyoutaro about 2 years ago when he showed up at my place in Tokyo with a picture of SUGI his dog that had recently passed away…the timing couldn’t have been worse , my life was upside down and of course the tattoo never happened…
We kept in touch , I mean HE kept in touch and next thing I know me and Kyoutaro are having breakfast in my kitchen…and after being away from Tokyo for so long I guess what I most enjoyed about this one was tattooing “in japanese” again…
Changing the subject , it’s august and speaking to friends all over the world you realize it’s that time of the year when everyone is going somewhere….here below the equator we are in the middle of our winter , whatever that means , and I can’t stop thinking about places like Thailand and Vietnan…maybe next summer.
This year a few days on a road trip around the brazilian country side will do…I’m packed and leaving in a couple of hours….

Hey Jun - i’m an old friend of your bro akira’s from the sputnik beach days in Japan. living in London, been wanting to get something done by you for long time, but don’t think our paths have crossed anytime recently. have been thinking up a new piece to get done since tio left us two years ago. You did the bird and arrow for arrow in Japan - is there anyone you can recommend in London. want to meet and discuss with someone here, but difficult to know where’s best to go.

Olá, Jun, antes de qualquer coisa: parabéns pelo seu trabalho; é inovador e tradicional ao mesmo tempo, buscando referências tradicionais, como de cultura indígena brasileira (grafismos), e fazendo uma bela releitura particular. por falar em cultura indígena: já esteve no Xingu? não pude deixar de reparar no banco zoomorfe próprio da região e em um adesivo do Xingu, presentes em algumas fotos. logicamente gostaria de conversar com vc a respeito da possibilidade de fazer uma tattoo. já tenho um grafismo indígena no braço (tribo Kalapalo, etnia Karib), feito pelo Eric Codo, que me falou de vc. já falei demais. se puder entre em contato; estou muito interessado.
